Prince Harry Repeatedly Thanked Meghan Markle’s Wedding Makeup Artist For Making Her ‘Look Like Herself’

Over two months on and we’re *still* talking about Meghan Markle’s fresh, gorgeous wedding day makeup. Those eyes! That skin! And it was clear Prince Harry liked it too. Remember this moment?

MUA Daniel Martin, who had previously worked with Meghan for press junkets and red carpets, was enlisted to do her makeup for the big day.

He was hailed for letting her gorgeous freckles shine through, along with giving her a beautiful glow – and it didn’t go unnoticed by her new husband.

Speaking to InStyle, Daniel said that Prince Harry couldn’t thank him enough:

I know exactly what she does and doesn’t like. After the ceremony Harry kept saying thank you. He was thanking me for making her look like herself.

And isn’t he dead right? Says Daniel: “The last thing you want is to look at your wedding pictures and go, ‘Remember when highlighting was the rage?’ At the end of the day, you want to look like your best self.”

The makeup artist is a brand ambassador for Dior, and used the brand’s new Backstage Face and Body Foundation for that lovely base, as well as the Diorshow Iconic Mascara for extra-fluttery lashes.

He told Elle just after the wedding that Meghan was extremely hands-on when it came to deciding her makeup look:

Her makeup look was very collaborative. She’s extremely decisive and I know exactly what she wants. She’s very open and loves makeup so it’s always been fun playing dress up with her!

It’s a look that’s bound to be copied by brides for years to come, so very well done Daniel.
