Here’s How Cocoa Brown’s Marissa Carter Made THAT Kylie Jenner Selfie Happen

It took a year of persuasion.

Kylie Jenner sent social media into overdrive last summer when she casually posted a photo from her bedroom showing a range of tanning products on her bed behind her.

The reason for the Twitter and Instagram excitement? All of the products were from Cocoa Brown, the tanning range started by Irish entrepreneur and beauty guru Marissa Carter.

Kylie Jenner no doubt gets thousands of euro worth of products sent to her on the daily, so it was pretty monumental that she chose to single out Cocoa Brown for an endorsement.

But speaking at Dublin’s BLOGGERCONF at the Marker Hotel this weekend, Marissa revealed that a lot of hard graft was involved in making that selfie happen.

“We were tanning Kylie with our products for a year before that post came about,” she told BLOGGERCONF founder Emma O’Farrell, explaining that there was no prior notice as to when – or if – Kylie might post a picture.

“We work with a woman in the UK who had come from one of the biggest PR companies over there, and early on she said to me ‘I’m going to get your tan in the hands of Kylie Jenner.'”

Very impressive indeed.

Kylie’s big sister Khloé is also a fan of the Cocoa Brown range, and in particular the Golden Goddess Shimmering Dry Body Oil (€11.95), which she was introduced to by her make-up artist Joyce Bonelli.

“Joyce started using it on her, and Khloé luckily just loved the product,” Marissa revealed to the BLOGGERCONF audience.

Speaking to STELLAR last month, Joyce said Goddess Oil was her go-to product for Khloé’s Shape magazine shoot back in April of this year.

“For one look I even put it on the lips, the bridge of the nose, cheekbones and her whole body,” Joyce explained. “I applied extra on shoulders, collar bones, the front of the legs and stomach.”
