It’s safe to say that 2015 was a pretty exciting year for So Sue Me‘s Suzanne Jackson – from the launch of her bestselling nail polish line, SoSu, to a Caribbean holiday, a trip to Texas with RewardStyle and getting all settled into her “dream apartment.” In STELLAR’s December issue, we chatted all things 2015 – and a bit of what’s coming next – with Suzanne. Here are the pics we didn’t show you… As well as hair and make-up details!

Is someone going on holidays? Not without me!

Make-up

Make-up artist Lauren Enright from Make Up For Ever was on hand to create Suzanne’s look for our shoot.

“I wanted to go for something ultra glam, but with a high-fashion feel,” says Lauren. “Starting with skin, I created a clean and clear base using Make Up For Ever HD Ultra Stick Foundation – with Full Cover Concealer to highlight around the eyes, in a shade a little lighter than Suzanne’s skintone.

“I then applied a light plum HD Blush (shade 320) across the cheek, and covered the face with a sprinkle of HD Powder, for a long-lasting look.

“For the eyes, I chose a palette of gold and bronze eyeshadows. I applied the darker bronze shade (700) across the lid, blending it lightly so the colour gradually became lighter as it reached the inner corner. I then dusted a gold shadow (414) on to the lid to give a glittering finish. To finish the eyes, I coated lashes with Make Up For Ever’s Smoky Lash mascara and added individual lashes for a fuller look.

“For lips I wanted to create a just-bitten look. Using Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist Intense Mat in #4, a dark plum, I applied an intense pop of colour to the centre of the lip and lightly softened it out to the edges of the lip line.

“Finally, to give Suzanne’s look a creamy, dewy finish, I highlighted her cheekbones, the centre of her nose and the cupid’s bow of her lips with Mary Lou-Manizer from The Balm.”

Hair

Hair stylist Trudy Hayes was in charge of Suzanne’s tumbling tresses (which are 60 percent good genes, 40 percent Gold Fever Hair extensions!). So, what did she do?

“To create a look of va-va voom and volume, I began by prepping damp hair with Tresemmé Volumizer. I worked it through the roots and then blow-dried her hair upside down to create a look of body and volume. From there, I added heated rollers, working each roller back from the face.

“Leaving the rollers in for 20 minutes, I gave the hair a light cover of Toni & Guy Glamour Hairspray. Next, I removed the rollers and flipped hair upside down again. Then, using a bristle brush, I combed the hair through to create movement.

“To complete the look, comb the hair into a deep side part and backcomb the roots around the crown of the head. For the final touch, I used the Toni & Guy Glamour Hairspray again –it gave Suzanne’s hair extra shine and kept it in place throughout the shoot.”
