Another One?! A Second Storm Is Heading Towards Ireland This Weekend And It Could Be As Bad As Ophelia

"It's moving south and will bring a lot of rain and strong winds."

As people across Ireland start the clean up process after yesterday’s fatal Storm Ophelia, another bout of bad weather is heading straight towards us.

Storm Brian is expected to hit the country on Friday and it’ll continue to be wet and windy throughout Saturday and Sunday. Heavy rain and strong winds will move south-east before dying out on Monday.

However, Met Eireann forecaster John Eagleton told the Irish Independent that, “at the moment, Storm Brian is nothing to worry about here in Ireland. It’s a moving depression rather than a hurricane. It’s moving south and will bring a lot of rain and strong winds. I don’t think it will hit Ireland as hard as it will hit the UK.”

Three people were killed in the ex-hurricane that swept the nation yesterday, and as of this morning, 245,000 homes and businesses were left without power.

Were you affected by yesterday’s weather?
