Dry Humpers Beware! You Can Totally Get Pregnant With Your Clothes On

Forget everything you were told in school.

The Inbetweeners

When it comes to sex, there are a tonne of myths out there and one of the biggest misconceptions is that you can only get pregnant through vaginal penetration.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, one contraception expert explains that it is totally possible for a woman to become pregnant through sexual contact even when fully clothed.

They warn that ‘If semen came into contact with your vagina then there is a risk of pregnancy.

“Semen can even soak through underwear and you can, although it is rare, get pregnant from that too,” they continue.

Experts also blast the effectiveness of the pull out method, which has seen a growth in popularity with recent data suggesting that 18% of couples use it as their primary means of contraception.

NSW Health tell the Daily Mail ‘Pregnancy can happen even if the penis is pulled out before ejaculation as the small amount of semen in pre-ejaculation fluid can come into contact with the vagina.”

The rhythm method, where couples abstain from sex when the woman is at her most fertile is also said to be ineffective.

Our advice? Just wrap it up. Using a condom is the only method of contraception that both prevents pregnancy and protects against STIs. Better safe than sorry, eh?
