It’s Official! Cheryl Has Legally Changed Her Name Again

She's no longer a Fernandez-Versini.

When Cheryl first featured on our screens during her Popstars The Rivals days, we knew her as a Tweedy. Then, following a four-year long marriage to Ashley Cole, she made a name for herself as Cheryl Cole, before marrying Jean-Bernard in 2014 and changing her name to Fernandez-Versini.

Since then she’s been divorced for a second time and started a family with Liam Payne, so it makes sense that she’d want to change her second name.

Liam announced last week that his girlfriend had done just that, legally opting to change her second name back to Tweedy.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 Xtra, Liam explained, “Her name is officially Cheryl Tweedy now, but to be honest it doesn’t really bother me, we have a kid together, there’s a lot more to our life.”

Liam also opened up about how he and Cheryl first got together, revealing that Simon Cowell had a hand in it.

“I was saying something about Cheryl one night in Simon’s house, and he was like, ‘I think I know who is going to be the future Mrs Payne’, and I was like ‘Who are you on about?’” Liam explained.

He added: “He was like, ‘I’m not telling you, you’ll have to wait and see’. They played cupid. If you ever need anything hooking up, those are your boys.”

Who knows, if Simon’s predictions about Cheryl being the future Mrs Payne are correct, she may well have to change her name again.
