Wait – Did Someone Say Harry Potter CRUISE?

Looking for an unconventional summer holiday? We've got just the thing.

The world of Harry Potter attractions is growing, with a European cruise company recently announcing that they will be launching a Harry Potter cruise. You read that right… a cruise.

Fancy giving the standard beach holiday a miss this summer? Well, the Harry Potter Magic Cruise offered by The Barge Ladies will bring fans to various locations used in the movie adaptations of the much loved J.K. Rowling novels.

According to the company’s website, the cruise will take place on a ship called the Magna Carta and will set sail from the 5th to the 11th of August and then again from the 19th to the 25th of August. The cruise will travel from Hampton Court to Henley-on-Thames on the River Thames.

Some of the film locations include Virginia Water, where in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry first encounters Buckbeak at the beautiful lake, Picket Post Close, the real-life location for the filming of 4 Privet Drive in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the Warner Brothers Studios and Oxford’s Christ Church College, which the Great Hall at Hogwarts was modelled after.

As magical as it sounds, the cruise will set you back about $4,190 per person. Barge Ladies founder Stephanie Sak told Good Morning America, “The itinerary is my baby and it has been a professional highlight to see it come to fruition.”
