You’ve Been Curing Your Hangover All Wrong. Here’s How To Actually Feel Better Fast
Forget drinking loads of water, scoffing jellies or reaching for the Panadol; these remedies are much more effective.
So we know the best way to avoid a hangover is obviously to avoid drinking so much you end up sick. (It’s really not a good look, gals.) But, we get it; sometimes you overindulge and wake up with a seriously banging headache the next day. Sob.
Sadly, our standard ‘cures’; guzzling lots of water, tucking into a greasy fry, and eating anything sugary we can get our hands on, just doesn’t cut it when it comes to curing that nasty hangover. These remedies however, are much more effective.
1. Lime
Can’t stomach regular old H2O on a hangover? Just like lemons, limes are pretty good at giving hangovers the heave-ho. Try adding two teaspoons of fresh lime juice and a teaspoon of honey to a pint of water when you wake up and see if it makes a difference.
6. Honey
Got a sweet tooth? Switch out sugary jellies and bars of chocolate for honey. Why? It’s bursting with potassium and toxin-battling antioxidants, as well as fructose to replace the sugars lost from your depleted brain after all that vino. For the ultimate cure, spread some on a slice of wholemeal toast.
