A New Sex And The City Series Is One The Way

We cannot wait for this!

We all know a third movie probably isn’t going to happen, and the OG cast isn’t going to work together any time soon, but there is something in the works for Sex and The City fans.

Author  Candace Bushnell has written a new book called Is There Still Sex in the City?

Like the original story, the book is set to be made into a TV show in the same vein as Sex And The City.

It will look at sex, dating and friendship in the Big Apple set between the Upper East Side of Manhattan and a country enclave known as The Village.

This time though, the focus will be on women in their 50s and up.

Candace is on board to write the pilot script and serve as an executive producer on the project.

Speaking about the story she said: “It didn’t used to be this way. At one time, fifty-something meant the beginning of retirement—working less, spending more time on your hobbies, with your friends, who like you were sliding into a more leisurely lifestyle,”

She told Deadline: “In short, retirement age folks weren’t meant to do much of anything but get older and a bit heavier. They weren’t expected to exercise, start new business ventures, move to a different state, have casual sex with strangers, and start all over again. But this is exactly what the lives of a lot of fifty- and sixty-something women look like today and I’m thrilled to be reflecting the rich, complexity of their reality on the page and now on the screen.”

There’s no word just yet on when it’s landing but we can’t wait to see it!
