David Beckham Is Stirring Up Debate (Again) After Sharing A Pic Of Him Kissing Daughter Harper

It seems the world is divided into Kissing Families and No Kissing Families.

Growing up, you were either in a Kissing Family or a No Kissing Family, and it seems like the Beckhams are certainly a Kissing Family.

Victoria and David often post photos of themselves being affectionate towards their four children – and yesterday, the former footballer shared a picture of seven-year-old daughter Harper giving him a kiss:

To children of kissing families, this was just a sweet photo of a dad and his daughter, but a certain cadre of followers labelled it ‘disgusting’ and ‘inappropriate’.

“I don’t care what anyone says if a dad kisses a child on the lips it’s completely wrong,” wrote one. “I feel like a kiss on the cheek is better than the lips. The lips is just weird,” said another.

However, fellow parents have been leaping to David’s defence, saying anyone who finds something ‘weird’ about the photo is weird themselves:

Perhaps these people with the negativity have got issues due to the lack of affection shown to them growing up. I love my kids so much I literally want to swallow them whole sometimes. There is nothing wrong with showing love to your children.

This isn’t the first time the Beckhams have been scolded for showing love to their kids – and it seems people have a problem with mums as well as dads kissing their children on the lips.

Back in 2016, Victoria celebrated Harper’s birthday by posting a photo of her giving her baby girl a little peck, and people went mad:

A year later, David got a similar response after sharing this photo of himself getting a kiss from his daughter:

In a discussion on Facebook Live the following month, David said that he is “very affectionate” with his kids because that’s how he himself was brought up.

I got actually criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day. I kiss all my kids on the lips. Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange. But I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children.

“We want to show our kids love and protect them, look after them, and support them, and we’re very affectionate with them,” he continued.

Are you Team Beckham on this one? Answers on a postcard please.
