Captain Marvel actress Lashana Lynch has reportedly been cast in the new James Bond film.

There’s been plenty of rumours about who would take over from Daniel Craig as James Bond, with guesses including Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba.

However, it looks like Daniel Craig will return as the titular character, but will be handing over his 007 role after Bond leaves MI6.

Taking over from his role is Lashana’s character.

You may recognise the star as fighter pilot Maria Rambeau and best friend of Captain Marvel in the film.

This is a huge step for the film, as many took issue with the lack of diversity as well as the sexism in the franchise.

We had high hopes for the film when it was revealed that Fleabag writer Pheobe Waller-Bridge was on board as a writer, and this new development is huge.

Here’s hoping the movie lives up to it’s potential.

Also appearing in Bond 25, is Rami Malek, while Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes return.
