This Emmerdale Actress Got Engaged To Her Boyfriend One Week After Meeting Him

We are in the era of fast engagements. Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson got engaged after two weeks, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin after a month, and Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra after two months. Shpeeding down the aisle, so they are!

But former Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett has beaten them all, getting engaged to her boyfriend Lee Walton one week after meeting him. One whole WEEK.

Speaking to OK Magazine, Roxanne said that they connected on Instagram after Lee saw her photo on the Elvis Presley hashtag (they’re both huge fans of the singer, and visited Graceland together earlier this year). She knew he was the one the moment they met IRL:

When I walked into the pub and saw him I thought, “Oh my god, you’re real”. I just flung my arms around him and it was like we’d been together forever. We were kissing within five minutes!

A week later, they moved in together – and on their first night living with each other, Lee spontaneously proposed. He didn’t have a ring, so they got matching tattoos on their ring fingers to symbolise their engagement. Talk about zero to a hundred, but Roxanne knows it sounds a bit mad.

“I know it sounds crazy, but I knew my heart,” said Roxanne. The pair have been going strong since then, and when Roxanne was involved in a car crash that left her fighting for her life last month, Lee was by her side. Thanking him on Instagram, she wrote:

I’ve never known what it feels like to have someone stop all the clocks for you. Until now. The kind of love that only songs are written about, that I didn’t believe was possible. Until now. Thank you  Lee for keeping my heart safe and holding me together. You’re my rock.

Well, that’s very nice, isn’t it? Let’s hope it works out for these crazy kids.
