Beat Weekend Boredom: We’ve Found 4 Deadly Things To Do Instead

Don't get FOMO; there are festivals, food offerings and things to do galore this weekend...

Irish Designer Sample Sale

Irish designer sample sale

Get yourself over to the Irish Designers sample sale anytime today until 10pm. It’s also on tomorrow (Friday) from 10am until 7pm and there’s a drinks reception both days from 5pm. Amongst the eight distinctive Irish designers are the amazing Chupi, Manley, Lisa Ryder and Jill De Búrca. The collections are going to be amazing and we promise you won’t find more unique and once-off bargains anywhere else. It’s on in the RSAI in Merrion Square and it’s cash sales only so stop off at the ATM beforehand.

Smithfield and Stoneybatter Food Festival

Smithfield food fest

After the incredible success of Oktoberfest, we can’t wait to pop our heads into this food festival this weekend. It’s a great opportunity to sample some of Dublin’s finest eats and treats and there’ll be banquets, delicious offers and picnics taking place all over D7. If you fancy some fresh produce and really tasty food, make sure you pop in.

Cinema date night

Emma Watson Regression

The weather’s getting colder and there’s some deadly new things out in the cinema if you fancy throwing on some comfy clothes and stuffing your face with popcorn and sweets. The new James Bond is out on Saturday if you’re trying to persuade your fella to stay in with you. Regression is also out this weekend and features Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke. It’s a psychological thriller and the synopsis looks pretty excellent. If you, like us, were hooked on Netflix’s Narcos, you’d best book tickets to go see Sicario. It stars Emily Blunt and Benicio del Toro and is already pegged to be one of the best films of 2015.

Dine in Dublin’s newest restaurants

Catch 22 Restaurant

We love it when new places open for us to test out and a number of exciting new places have popped up over the last few weeks. There’s a new seafood-only restaurant on South Anne Street called Catch 22 which looks absolutely gorgeous. If you fancy some steak, Featherblade on Dawson Street serves only that, and the reviews so far have been fantastic. Also, one of our favourite brunch spots Sister Sadie on Haddington Street is finally open in the evenings too so we’ll deffo be popping in there. Definitely beats a night on the couch if you ask us.
