Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa
Dunboyne, Co. Meath

Tucked away on 21 acres of lush green parkland is this country house, with a full restaurant, pool and spa on site. For summer the folks at Dunboyne are linking up with Tayto Park to offer a couple’s package from €148 per couple, including entrance to the nearby Tayto Park, B&B and access to the Seoid Spa and its thermal suite. Plus, driving time from Dublin is just 35 – 45 minutes.

 

Powerscourt Hotel Resort Spa
Powerscourt, Co. Wicklow

We generally think of Powerscourt as a seriously spendy hotel, but they have some great summer deals. From €245 total, you and your other half/BFF can get a B&B room, dinner at the hotel’s Sika Restaurant, plus a 50-min ESPA treatment each. At 50 minutes from Dublin city centre, it’s the furthest away of our three picks, but without traffic you’d easily make it there in 40 minutes.

 

Carton House Hotel
Maynooth, Co Kildare

Carton House is best known for its golf club, which has previously hosted the Irish Open and has topped all sorts of Best Golf Resort lists. But there’s also beautiful grounds and a gorgeous spa on site. From €245 per couple you can get B&B, a three-course meal at the Linden Tree Restaurant and your choice of a round of golf or a spa treatment as part of their Couples Retreat deal. Depending on traffic you’ll make it from Dublin city in 30 – 40 minutes.
