Billie Lourd Just Posted A Really Sweet Instagram Tribute To Her Late Mum Carrie Fisher
Carrie passed away in December.
It’s been just over two weeks since actress Carrie Fisher passed away, followed days later by her mother, Hollywood star Debbie Reynolds.
Today, Carrie’s only daughter, 24-year-old Billie Lourd, took to social media to share a sweet and very fitting tribute to her late mum. Posting a childhood photo of herself and her mum sitting in the backseat of a car, the Scream Queens star shared some wisdom Carrie had once imparted about finding the humour in life’s dark moments.
“If my life weren’t funny then it would just be true and that is unacceptable – Carrie Fisher. Finding the funny might take a while but I learned from the best and her voice will forever be in my head and in my heart,” Billie wrote, writing her mum’s name using a series of emojis, just as Carrier herself used to do on Twitter.
Earlier this month, Billie thanked fans of herself, her mum and her grandmother for their support and kind wishes.
“Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist,” she wrote alongside a photo of the three women. “There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me.”
Billie was the only daughter of Carrie and talent agent Bryan Lourd, whose two-year relationship ended in 1994.
Carrie, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series of films, passed away on December 27th after four days in intensive care following a heart attack on a flight from London to LA. Her mother died just one day later due to stroke complications.
Star Wars’ writers and producers met last week in LA to discuss the fate of Carrie’s character in future films, as Princess Leia was expected to play a “pivotal” role in the film’s two upcoming instalments.
