Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are engaged…and no you haven’t be transported back to 2002. They couple who were originally engaged 20 years ago but broke up, have found their happy ending over a decade later and are planning to walk down the aisle.

Jen announced their engagement in a short video for her brilliantly named fan newsletter, On The JLo. The video featured romantic music in the background as the singer showed of her stunning new emerald ring.

While in a voice over she says, ““You’re perfect,”

We’re not sure if she’s talking about Ben or the ring, but honestly it could be both.

The gorgeous emerald ring is special, not only because of how beautiful it is, but also the important meaning the colour green has to Jen.

Green has been a favourite of her for a very long time now. It was the colour of her infamous Jungle Dress which she wore to the Grammys in 2000. A dress which was so famous it broke the internet…literally so many people were googling it, there was too many request. So Google created Google images to help with situations like this. ICONIC!

In a previous newsletter Jennifer singled out the  colour green explaining it importance to her and referencing the dress. Writing, “I always say the color green is my lucky color, maybe you can remember a certain green dress.”

Well done Ben, he definitely made the right choice of gem stone.

But the actress had hinted at being engaged before the official announcement. Taking to social media Jen mentioned a “”major announcement”, telling fans, “So I have a really exciting and special story to share…”

While the rumour mill was already turning after she was spotted wearing a ring on her left hand.

Ben originally proposed in 2002, and the couple were set to wed the following year, but called off the nuptials in September 2003. They called it quits in 2004 and both went on to have marriages of their own, before reconnecting in 2021.

A massive congratulations to the pair!
