Dermot Kennedy Shows His Support For Friend Shawn Mendes Amid Singer’s Mental Health Struggles

Dermot Kennedy has sent singer Shawn Mendes a a kind message after Shawn cancelled part of his world tour due to poor mental health.
Dermot, who was a supporting act on Shawn’s tour, posted a tribute to the Canadian singer after he opened up to fans about his recent struggles.
Sharing a picture of them together, Dermot wrote; “Tour with Shawn Mendes is taking a break for three weeks, we’ll be back up and running soon. Sending love and support to Shawn, nothing can come before your peace and wellbeing.”
Revealing how brilliant it was to work with Shawn, the Dubliner said; “Have already learned so much just from these first few shows with him.”

Shawn opened up to fans about his mental health yesterday, announcing on social media that he was postpone his world tour at the advice of medical professionals.
The singer revealed his heartbreak at have to cancel gigs, but explained how he was feeling.
Saying; “This breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I’m going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice.”
“I’ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it’s always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family.”

The Canadian musician shared how the cancellation of concerts during the pandemic was a well-needed break for him, but after getting back to work, he realised more time was needed.
“After a few years off the road, I felt like I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I’ve hit a breaking point,” he admitted.
“After speaking with my team and health professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost.”

The Treat You Better singer ended, by explaining he would let fans know of any updates about the tour.
Swearing; “As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know love you guys.”
Shawn has always been very honest with his followers, and back in April confessed he was having a difficult time due to his mental health.
Writing on IG, “life can be hard..i’ve been going through it lately
Tryna be the best ain’t really doing it for me anymore if i’m honest. Turns out just being me feels a whole lot better
I know there’s a lot of people out there struggling, i hope you get the support you you need.”
