Julianne Hough Says Goodbye To Broadway

Sadly, the time has come for Julianne Hough to hang up her broadway boots as she says goodbye to her dream role.

After four months on stage and 200 shows of “POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive,” Julianne, who played Dusty, a farm girl who is pregnant with the President of the United States’ baby, both celebrated and said goodbye to the political comedy, which finished up yesterday.

The musical saw the talented singer-actress share the stage at the Shubert Theatre with an all-female cast, including Vanessa Williams, Lea DeLaria and “Saturday Night Live” alum Rachel Dratch in a play that, set in the White House, takes satirical aim at the patriarchy.

Throughout her time as Dusty, Julianne was all too happy to keep her fans updated on her unforgettable Broadway experience, wanting to share every little detail along the way.

Whether it was behind-the-scenes antics or a glimpse into their pre-show ritual, in which the actress blasted a feel-good song and danced through the hallways as they all got ready to hit the stage – we saw it all!!

Recording herself from the back of a car as she made her way towards Shubert Theatre in Manhattan, she said: “I don’t even know what to say other than this has been one of the most extraordinary times of my life with some of the most incredible human beings on the planet.”

The actress gained quite the big break for herself after her stint on “Dancing With the Stars” back in 2007, which led to her starring in some of the biggest movie-musicals out there such as “Footloose”, “Rock of Ages” and of course “Greave Live”, which saw her play the leading role of Sandy.

Just the other week, Julianne took to Instagram to give tribute the late Olivia Newton-John, with a clip of her singing the famous “Hopelessly Devoted To You.”

And although this door closes, with a talent like Julianne’s we can’t imagine it will be long until she’s back on the stage again!
