The Absolute Essentials You Need To Pack For EP To Survive
From your toothbrush to hayfever tablets
So you’ve got your Electric Picnic and you’re ready to head to Stradbally for the weekend, lucky you. Your first thought likely went to what you’re going to wear, and what drink you’re going to bring. But there are plenty more items in between that are just as important as your glitter and cans.
The last thing you want to do when you set up your tent and settle in for a weekend of fun is realise that you’ve left something essential at home. You can give yourself a pat on the back for remembering your toothbrush, but if you’re desperately searching the campsite for some spare toilet roll at 4am, you’ve done yourself wrong.

2022 is going to be the year we get our sh*t together and pack the right way. Like the airport dad of EP, tick off our list below and you’ll find yourself wanting for nothing next weekend.
Obvious Essentials
We’ll kick the checklist off with some obvious essentials, so obvious in fact, that there’s at least one thing on the list you’ll forget to pack.
- Your ticket
- Money and cards (including ID)
- Tent and tent pegs
- Sleeping bag
- Toilet roll
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Painkillers (other medical essentials including oral contraceptives)
- Wet wipes
- Swimwear (if you plan on showering)
- House keys
- Hairbrush
Not-so-obvious Essentials
- Dry shampoo
- Lip balm
- SPF
- Deodorant
- Bin bags (to keep the tent clean)
- Sanitary products (pads, tampons)
- Contraception
- Hayfever tablets and insect repellant
- Duct tape (for tent mishaps)
- Hangover cures (hydration salts, vitamin drinks, etc)
- Snacks like breakfast bars, crisps, peanuts, etc.
- Eyemask and earplugs
- Reusable water bottle
- A flag to find your tent and friends in a crowd
- Sunglasses
- A hat
- Rainwear
- Extra socks
