Florence Pugh Is Hoping To Release Her First Solo Album Next Year

Florence Pugh is one of our favourite actresses, from her work on Little Women to Fighting With My Family, she’s fantastic in everything. But it seems she might be fantastic AT everything as well.

Flo has just announced a major project we didn’t see coming, revealing her hopes of releasing her first solo album. Wait…WHAT!?

Yep, you read that right, after taking the silver screen by storm, Florence is jumping into the music industry.

Opening up on BBC Radio 4’s This Cultural Life, Flo revealed music was her first passion, evening having a YouTube channel where she performed under the name Flossie Ro as a teenager, saying: “I would have put money on being a singer songwriter way before being an actor, to me being an actor was so far away. I knew that I could do it, but I didn’t know how to get there.

“Whereas me with my guitar being recorded and going on YouTube, and performing on stage and doing gigs was way more accessible.”

So if music was her focus, then how did she end up as a film star?

Well it came down to chance, after randomly going on an audition, as she explained: “So that was always the thing that I thought I was going to do and then I did this leaflet audition and it just completely went 180.”

But in her next film, A Good Person, Florence embraced her musical past, writing and performing songs for the soundtrack, which she is hoping could evolve into a full album.

“It’s something that I have been so conscious of ever since my acting career kind of went like this. I do miss it and I do miss performing. I’ve lost confidence in it because I haven’t been doing it.”

“And I know that if I don’t do it, the lack of confidence is only going to get worse and I just need to just give it a go.”

This actually would be Florence’s first work on an album.

Back in 2021, she featured on her brother Toby Sebastian’s song Midnight. So not only is Flo a great singer/songwriter, she’s also related to Tony Sebastian. We are learning all sorts about our girl today.
