WATCH: This Year’s Boots Christmas Advert Is Absolutely Magical
Absolutely stunning.
Christmas ads may be the best past of Christmas. This is a fact – it cannot be debated.
Every year, we wait with baited breath to see how our favourite brands are going to make us laugh and make us cry with their delightful festive content.
Earlier this month, Boots unveils its Christmas campaign for 2022, ‘Joy for All’, with a gorgeous festive ad that encapsulates all the joy of finding just the right gift for the right person.
The ad stars BAFTA nominated actress Lydia West and features the track ‘You Make My Dreams (Come True)’ by Hall & Oates. It tells the story of a woman named Holly (get it? Christmas) who finds a pair of glasses on the bus. But these aren’t any old glasses, they’re a pair of magical glasses that allow her to see exactly what brings each individual person joy when she wears them.
Whether it’s a colleague who loves bubble baths, a cousin who’s a woman for the glam, or her own Dad who adores his pet dog, Holly immediately knows what each person in her life would love.
And unsurprisingly, the gifts she gets them are universally adored – and they’re all from Boots. There’s a gorgeous Soap & Glory gift set, a Marc Jacobs fragrance, a Dyson hairdryer and a cushion personalised with a picture of the family dog.
As the ad comes to an end, Holly eventually discovers who the magical glasses belonged to.. and the reveal does not disappoint.
Boots Ireland has gifts for every budget this Christmas, with 50% of its range priced at €15 or under. They also have amazing deals, including its biggest ever Star Gift programme and biggest ever Black Friday.
What’s more is that Boots has said 2022 will be its most sustainable Christmas to date. Over 95% of their gifting range is free from secondary plastic, which saves over 100 tonnes of plastic. As well as this, all boots.ie deliveries are entirely plastic free, removing a further 7.8 tonnes of plastic per year from its supply chain.
The brand also boasts a whole array of vegan and sustainable gifts and products, meaning that there really is something for everyone in the lead up to Christmas.
Linda Nolan, Head of Marketing at Boots said: “Our customers have told us that they want Christmas to be about joyful time with loved ones and are also looking for brilliant value and affordable gifs for everyone. The ‘Joy for All’ campaign shows that no matter the size or price of the gift, Boots can help everyone find joy with its most affordable Christmas gifting range ever. We are also pleased to be including many Irish brands this year including Sculpted by Aimee, Bellamianta, Spotlight and SoSu Cosmetics.”
Lydia West added: “Christmas is my favourite time of year and like Holly, I enjoy the feeling of picking a present for someone that I know they are going to love. My time on set filming the Boots campaign got me feeling festive and excited to think about what is going to make my own friends and family smile with joy on Christmas morning”.
