All The Irish BAFTA Nominations

You’ll never beat the Irish!
Several Irish stars have received nominations at this year’s British Academy Film Awards – the BAFTAs.
The nominations were announced this week with Irish flying the flag!
It’s no surprise that The Banshees of Inisherin racked up 10 nominations altogether.
Writer-director Martin McDonagh and stars Kerry Condon was nominated as Best Supporting Actress, while Colin Farrell nabbed the Best Actor nomination, Brendan Gleeson, and Barry Keoghan are both up for Best Supporting Actor.
Paul Mescal nabbed a BAFTA nomination in the Best Actor category for Aftersun and Daryl McCormack who is also up for Rising Star is up for his role in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande.
Irish language film An Cailín Ciúin has received nominations for Best Film Not in the English Language as well as Best Adapted Screenplay for its writer-director, Colm Bairéad, whose heart-rending drama is based on the Claire Keegan book Foster.
It marks the first time an Irish language film has been nominated for a BAFTA.
The Wonder, an adaptation of Emma Donoghue’s book and starring the likes of Niamh Algar, and set in post-Famine era Ireland, is also up for Outstanding British Film.
The awards will take place in London on Sunday 19th February.
