Here’s Why Maya Jama Is Staying Single At The Moment
Maya Jama is embracing single girl status!
Love Island might be all about the romance but for host Maya Jama it’s the furthest thing from her mind.
The TV personality has been linked to many supposed flames recently, being linked to American singer Giveon, and ex-bf Stormzy.
However, Maya confirmed to The Times, that she is “really, really single” but that might not be by chance, having a lot to do with her new Love Island gig.
Maya’s close pal and former Radio 1 colleague DJ Rickie Haywood Williams, hosted a Mastercard event in celebration of its 25-year headline sponsorship of BRITs, and opened up about the Bristol woman’s attitude to dating.
Saying: “I know Maya, we used to work together on Radio 1 and I know for a fact that while she’s on Love Island she wants to keep it all about the show and make sure she doesn’t get caught out.”

So seems like we shouldn’t expect Maya to couple up with anyone, anytime soon, as she focuses on her career.
And it’s certainly paying of, as the 28-year-old has already broke viewing record for Sunday night special: Aftersun.
On her first week presenting Aftersun actually had more viewers than that night’s Love Island episode. With Love Island being watched by 1.51 million viewers while 1.82 million tuned into Aftersun.
Something which really impressed her bosses over at ITV. With a source telling The Sun: “Spin-offs are not meant to be the main event.”
“Maya is the shot in the arm Love Island needs.”
