Is Liam Payne Fighting Tommy Fury?

Liam Payne and Tommy Fury sent their followers into a frenzy when they took to their social media on Wednesday night posting a cryptic photo of the two facing off against each other in what appeared to be a teaser for a fight between them.

The photo which appeared like a boxing match promotional poster showed both men facing each other, the rafters of the Manchester stadium visible in the background.

It read: “Old Trafford Manchester. Liam Payne. Tommy Fury. This summer. Announcement tomorrow”. We love a cryptic message!

It has since been revealed that the ex-One Direction member and the ex-islander managed to hoodwink the entirety of their followers – they will not in fact be fighting each other.

Instead the pair will be facing off in a celebrity charity football game for Soccer Aid.

The winner of I’m a Celeb 2022, Jill Scott has been announced as captain of the English team and will be joined by fellow newcomers Tommy Fury, Jack Wilshere, Joel Corry, Bugzy Malone, Karen Carney and Gary Cahill.

They will also see Soccer Aid alums return to the field including Usain Bolt, Liam Payne, Tom Grennan, Mo Farah, Steven Bartlett, Gary Neville and Vicky McClure.

The reveal had fans hooked as they truly believed the pair were going to fight against each other with one fan commenting: “and we though you were gonna box😭😂,” while another posted “i genuinely thought it was going to be fight”.

The celebrity football game in aid of Soccer Aid will take place on June 11th 2023 at Manchester’s Old Trafford.
