Love Island Is Going As Gaeilge In New Show
Grá agus Gaeilge, what more could you want?
For anyone who spent their teen summers in the Gaelteacht, get ready for some nostalgia.
TV presenter Gráinne Seoige has joined the hosting team of Virgin Media’s new Irish dating show, Grá ar an Trá.
The Love Island dupe will celebrate love and language as a group of singletons are brought to one of Ireland’s gorgeous Gaeltacht regions.

Gráinne has taken on the role of the ‘Cinnire Grá’ – the ‘Captain of Love’. Joined by ‘Bean an Tí’ Siomha and ’Man an Tí’ – James Kavanagh the trio will be guiding the contestants through the reality series helping the learn some new phrases, complete some fun challenges and hopefully find love.
The contestants will spend their time on the show mastering the Irish Language and getting to know their co-stars.
At the end of the show, the winners will be crowned as the ‘Couple with the most Focail’ and they will walk away with a €10,000 prize.

Gráinne, our very own Galway Girl, is excited to share her love of the Irish language with the show’s contestants.
She said: “I’m really looking forward to the craic we’ll have cheering the couples on, as they get a blas (taste) for Gaeilge.”
Grá ar an Trá is set to air later this year.
