Una Healy Shares Excitement As She Joins Ireland AM
Una Healy stepped into Muireann O’Connell’s shoes to help present Ireland AM.
Muireann is off enjoying Wimbledon this week which means that Una made her debut on the morning show.
She shared her delight at being on the couch alongside Tommy Bowe and Alan Hughes.
“I’m feeling great, I’m feeling fresh, I went to bed early and got up early. I set the alarm for 4am but I woke up at 3.30am,” she gushed.
“But when I arrived here this morning, literally pulling up outside, the Saturdays Work came on, so I was like that’s a good omen.”
Alan and Tommy urged her to give them a tune before Tommy added: “We are literally going to have her performing for us all morning.”
Before she headed onto the show, she admitted that she had “big shoes to fill this morning“ as she stepped in for Muireann.
Later on in the programme, she spoke about the pressures of parenthood and childcare.
She opened up about the “huge pressure” on mothers to find a balance between work and raising their children.
“You don’t want to give up your life just because you’ve had kids,” she admitted.
“I don’t know what I would do without the grandparents, but then again, I’m a single mother, that’s a whole other issue.”
Una is the proud mother to 11-year-old Aoife and eight-year-old Tadhg who she shares with her ex-husband Ben Foden.
She has been open about parenting as a single mother and the pressures it brings.
