RTÉ Viewers Aren’t Overly Impressed With The New Late Late Show Logo
It's... different.
It’s out with the old and in with the new as the Late Late Show continues to make changes to the beloved chat show.
The most recent being the removal of the iconic owl in the show’s logo.
The owl has been used since the show first began back in 1962 with host Gay Byrne and is synonymous with The Late Late Show’s opening credits.
So to say that people were left unimpressed, was a bit of an understatement.

Taking to Twitter, many fans expressed their true feelings with one writing: “Where’s the owl. Late late without the owl isn’t late late.”
“WE need the owl!!!” replied another.
“Don’t like it. It’s the end of the late late,” commented a third.
While a fourth tweeted: “I miss the owl.”
The new logo has a dark blue background with the Late Late written in white in a bold font in a light blue circle, with many fans believing it’s not “homely” enough for the chat show.
In 2019, the iconic owl was even named Gabriel by the public in honour of the late Gay Byrne, who hosted the show for 30 years.
This comes after rumours had swirled that RTÉ was looking to give the show a makeover when it returns in the autumn with brand new host Patrick Kielty at the helm.
So, what do you think of the Late Late Show’s new look?
