The Hayu Hotlist: Conor Behan, & What’s New For September
STELLAR PROMOTION: Looking for something new to watch?
Looking for your next reality TV fix?
Look no further than streaming service Hayu, home to a plethora of shows from The Real Housewives to Below Deck and beyond.
At STELLAR HQ, we’re big fans of Hayu and each month, we’re bringing you some inspo for what to watch next. This month, podcast presenter and DJ Conor Behan is revealing his reality faves as she tells us what you should be streaming on Hayu.
What show first brought you into the world of Hayu? Why did it hook you in?
The Real Housewives of New Jersey and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were my intro and got me started on my Hayu journey! I was watching them elsewhere for years but having Hayu to watch everything easily the same day as the USA was a godsend.
Which is your favourite Housewives city?
Of all time probably a tie between New York and Atlanta. In the last while it’s been a toss up between Miami and Potomac which have delivered brilliant moments in recent seasons. Get on board with Miami from season 4, it’s amazing!
Who’s your favourite housewife and why?
To pick one is just impossible! The greatest ever is probably Nene Leakes but Porsha Williams, Kenya Moore, Lisa Vanderpump, Sonja Morgan and Gina Liano are honourable mentions too (If you’ve never watched The Real Housewives of Melbourne you’re missing out!)
Most iconic/hilarious Housewives moment?
There are so many! The Amsterdam dinner on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has become quotable even for non Housewives fans, Atlanta has had some jaw dropping reunions and the drama from New York when Bethenny confronted LuAnn about Tom was incredible. Comedy wise pretty much everything Sonja Morgan says is top tier but Porsha and Nene at their best are hilarious too.
Any favourite quotes from Hayu shows?
Kandi going “Who said that?” on Atlanta is one I quote all the time, “Wow, Bethenny, Wow!” from Ramona is never far from my mind and I love Kyle saying “We were all so happy that day” as it’s both hilarious and oddly prophetic.
Any new shows or new seasons of Hayu faves you’re looking forward to?
So excited for Beverly Hills and Potomac to come back as they’ve been amazing the last few seasons. Miami has been top tier so I’m sweating for that to return and Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip has been such a game changer so I’m buzzing for the new season coming in December.
Have you found any hidden gems on Hayu?
Their library is amazing! There’s the chaos of Hey Paula, a now infamous look at Paula Adbul’s life during her judging stint on American Idol and Lindsay, a series about Lindsay Lohan trying to mount a comeback with Oprah. There’s also the underrated but brilliant Ladies of London which I always recommend to people as it’s full of great characters.
If you were a Real Housewife, what would your tagline be?
“As a DJ I play the music but don’t ever try and play me!” would work as it’s just about ridiculous enough!
What’s your favourite thing about reality TV?
I love how reality TV is escapist and fun but often has moments of humour, heart and drama that you couldn’t make up. When it works best it’s high end people watching with moments you can never believe people are willing to have on camera.
If you’re looking for some inspiration on where to start, here are some of the gems available on Hayu now… and a taste of what’s coming very soon!
