Here’s What We Know About Andrew Scott’s Upcoming WWII Film
It's all go for him tbf
Andrew Scott has just landed his next role and we’re already counting down the days until we can see it.
Yes, the Irish actor is gearing up to star in Pressure, a UK-set thriller about the run-up to the D-Day landings.
The movie chronicles the true story of the three days before the Allied invasion of Normandy, one of the crucial World War II events that would lead to the liberation of France and Western Europe in 1944.
In the true story, Andrew is set to play Group Captain James Stagg, the Allies’ Chief Meteorologist whose job it was to inform Supreme Commander General Eisenhower of weather conditions that would make-or-break their Normandy invasion.
And as we know, the decision-making was critical to the fate of the war and the course of history.
“With his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower,” the official synopsis reads.
“With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.”
The film, which is directed by Anthony Mara is expected to start shooting in the UK this September.
The series has also received a nomination for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
And rightly so.
Sure it’s all go for our Andrew!
