The Wicked press run is taking over our social media.

With some truly iconic actors – and some lesser-known ones – the cast did the most amazing job with the musical adaptation, and it’s safe to say we’re already booking our tickets to go see it again.

One actor who stood out to us in particular with his outstanding performance was English actor Jonathan Bailey.

Here’s everything you need to know about him.

Who is Jonathan Bailey?

Jonathan was born in Oxfordshire England in 1988, making him thirty-six years old. He began his acting career in Royal Shakespeare Company Productions when he was only seven.

Since then Jonathan has won many awards for his outstanding acting skills, including the Critics Choice Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards and National Television Awards just to name a few.

What has Jonathan Been in?

Since then he has starred in many shows and movies, most famously, as The Viscount in the highly successful Netflix show Bridgerton.

This is where his acting career really took off. Bridgerton has so far had three seasons and Jonathan has been a huge part in all three including season two where he was the male lead.

He has also had roles in the likes of Crashing, Broadchurch and W1A.

Wicked

Jonathan’s role in the new Wicked adaptation is sure to cast his career to new levels. Bailey told PEOPLE Magazine’s special Wicked edition that he practised dances for his audition on a long-haul flight just to perfect every last step.

And perfected he did. If you have seen the movie you will know that Jonathan absolutely smashes his role as Fiyero the country Prince.

The movie is the first film in a duology with the second movie set to be released in the next few years.

Bailey said preparing for the role was “hard work, however being invited to play any character in Wicked was worth it”.

What will we see him in next?

We have no doubt that Bailey will have an amazing future career and we wouldn’t be surprised if his role in Wicked earns him a few more awards.

Jonathan is set to star in the 7th movie of the Jurassic Park franchise in 2025. When announced on Jimmy Fallen earlier this year, Jonathan told Jimmy that he is “freaking out, its mind blowing, its brilliant”.
