Harris Dickinson Is Our Babygirl Right Now
He's only on the up and up
Harris Dickinson has been charming audiences for a while now, but it was his role in Babygirl alongside Nicole Kidman that truly cemented his place as one of the most compelling actors of his generation.
This man doesn’t just act, he inhabits his roles. He’s got the charisma, the depth, and that rare ability to make every one of his performances feel lived-in, as if his characters aren’t written at all but have just walked straight out of real life. He’s become a real standout in modern cinema, and let’s be real, in many of our daydreams.
From East London to Hollywood
Born and raised in Leytonstone, East London, the same neighbourhood as Alfred Hitchcock might I add, was seemingly destined for a life in film. Seems like talent is in the water over there. He initially pursued acting at the Raw Academy, studying film and theatre, but dropped out at 17 to fully commit to his craft.

A bold move? Yes. The right move? Absolutely. His breakout role came in Beach Rats (2017), a gritty indie drama that premiered at Sundance. Dickinson’s brooding performance as a closeted Brooklyn teenager navigating identity and masculinity caught the attention of critics and audiences alike. From there, his career only skyrocketed.
The Roles That Defined Him
Since his early breakout, Dickinson has carved out a niche playing complex, unpredictable characters. His range is undeniable, spanning everything from dramas to big-budget blockbusters. A man of real taste. In the critically acclaimed sequel, The Souvenir: Part II (2021), Dickinson stepped into the role of an arrogant, self-absorbed young actor, and let’s just say, he nailed the role a little too well. He proved that you can in fact love someone and hate someone at the same time.
In the satirical gem, Triangle of Sadness (2022), Dickinson made being stranded on a yacht in the middle of chaos look extremely stylish. A film that not only got him Cannes-level attention but also proved he can navigate razor-sharp humour while looking disheveled. Respect. Where the Crawdads Sing (2022), the role where Dickinson played Chase Andrews, the golden boy with a not so golden personality.
He gave us charm, he gave us menace, and he gave us yet another reason to bring him up in the group chat. A Murder at the End of the World (2024) is a psychological thriller where Dickinson once again delivered an outstanding performance, so much so that the BAFTAs took note and gave him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
His upcoming directorial debut is pending with the film Urchin, because acting wasn’t quite enough for him. Dickinson is now taking his turn stepping behind the camera, with the film currently in post-production. If his past decisions are anything to go by, expect something daring and perhaps emotional.
The Man Behind the Roles
For all those who don’t do deep dives, here are a few things you might not know about your Internet Boyfriend. Despite his talent and rising star status, Dickinson is surprisingly very down to earth, the kind of guy who could be starring in a major film one day and grabbing a meal deal from Tesco the next.
We learned on his Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg that he’s an avid skateboarder and once almost showed up to a date with his skateboard… what would you do if your date literally rolled up to you?

And if you need any more proof that he’s really a typical East Londoner at heart, he revealed during Variety’s Actors on Actors alongside fellow heartthrob Drew Starkey that his favourite song is Sprinter by Central Cee.
So, despite his A-list trajectory, he’s a lot more like us then you’d think.
And Yes, He’s Taken (Tragic, We Know)
Just when you thought there was maybe a slight (highly unrealistic) chance of bumping into him and sweeping him off his feet, reality hits like a truck. Harris has been off the market for quite some time. He is devoted to English singer-songwriter and long-term girlfriend Rose Gray, and honestly? We have no choice but to stan.

Harris and Rose’s love story sounds straight out of a coming-of-age film, they met in school and have been together ever since. While the rest of us were fumbling through awkward teenage crushes and reading elaborate Wattpad stories about our favourite celebs, Rose was busy securing a lifelong romance with the Harris Dickinson. We love a queen with a clear agenda.
If you haven’t heard of Rose Gray, allow us to introduce a new musical gem. The 28-year-old singer has been blessing the music scene since 2019, releasing a string of singles and a mixtape (Dancing, Drinking, Talking, Thinking) in 2021 before signing with PIAS Recordings. Her whole vibe and music are effortlessly cool, much like her long-term boyfriend.

The Ultimate Cool Girl and Critically Acclaimed Actor
While it may sting just a little to know that Harris isn’t wandering the streets of London waiting for a meet-cute with a stranger, his love story with Rose is the kind of romance that feels like the perfect childhood sweetheart trope. The indie musician and the critically acclaimed actor and their unwavering support for each other? Honestly, it’s rude how naturally cool they are.
So, while we wipe away a single dramatic tear for our lost (imaginary) shot, we can’t help but root for them both.
