‘People Get Carried Away’: Jessie Wynter On Pressure After Love Island & Buying a Farm
"I never would’ve expected a farmer to actually be on Love Island, let alone me moving to the UK!"
Jessie Wynter won over the hearts of Love Island viewers when she appeared on the 2023 Winter season of the show.
She coupled up with Farmer Will Young and has relocated from Australia to the UK.
She jokingly tells STELLAR, “I said to my family before I left ‘See you guys later. I might see you mid-February, latest March, you know I’ll be back.’ Nope, that’s not the case; I was straight on a farm and I don’t think I ever would’ve expected a farmer to actually be on Love Island, let alone me moving to the UK.”
Speaking to Jessie for Top Offshore Sportsbooks, she opens up about the microscope reality show romances tend to be under.

She came out of the villa over two years ago and admits: “When we came off Love Island everything was so exciting, we were posting so much about our relationship online because it was so exciting and in my world, it was just taking up everything, so we were posting about it all the time.
“I think as our relationship has progressed, and we’ve grown and we’re a bit older and mature now, we probably post about our relationship less which makes people think that our relationship isn’t as strong. However, it’s actually the complete opposite; we’re so comfortable and love each other so much that we just don’t feel the need to be sharing all the details online.
“So, I think sometimes people question what we’re up to, what we’re doing because we’re a bit quieter, but the fact of the matter is we’re just so into living life together that we’re not posting about it online as much.”
She goes on to say: “But I do think there is a lot of pressure for Love Island couples, especially when you first come off the show. Those first three months there’s so much pressure, so much speculation and I think for the couples that do want to make it in the long run it’s really important to ignore those voices and put your energy into each other instead of pleasing that online audience.
“I think sometimes, especially when you’re thrown into the limelight like that people get carried away with the wrong things. Just stay grounded.”
Rumours have swirled about their romance, including engagement news, while Jess doesn’t confirm or deny anything, she is absolutely beaming about the next stage of their relationship. Most excitingly, they’re buying a farm!
“We had like a moment the other day where we just pinched ourselves; we were like, ‘What the hell, we met on Love Island; we’re here in a house that we’ve renovated and we’re about to buy a farm together.’ And we just could not believe that a show like Love Island introduced us.”
She adds: “We’re really happy at the moment, which is great.”
Of course, we have to ask about farming life. It is certainly close to Will’s heart and now Jessie couldn’t think of a better place to live.
“When I first came to the farm I was working a lot more because there was a lot more stock. Lately, I’ve actually been able to reign it back so I’ve been doing a lot of like the behind the scenes work for the podcast. Will’s still up at 6am but he’s really good; 6am start, finished by 1,” she beams.
“Which is good for Will but it’s a lot of hard work and I think when people think of farming they think of always being out there but there are lots of things that go into making a family farm work such as all the behind the scenes stuff like ordering of stuff, the organisation, preparation. There’s so much that goes into it.”
Of course, she’s an Aussie girl through and through, and she admits that she is figuring out how to spend more time with her family Down Under.

“I do miss my family so much but this year I’ve decided I’m going to go back more often. I think I’ve nailed the jetlag. I’ve decided before a flight to Australia I’m going to stay up 24 hours; it’s really hard but I sleep on the plane and then it helps me get over the jetlag,” she tells us.
“So, I’m going to try go back to Australia a little bit more this year. I do miss my family so much and I honestly wish that the UK and Australia were just closer; it would just be perfect.”
We’ll definitely be using this hack for our next long haul flight!
