How To Achieve A Big Bouncy Blow Dry At Home

Rollers, rollers, rollers

Big bouncy blow dries are having their moment in the spotlight, these past few years. With Victoria’s Secret fashion shows back with their iconic bombshell blowout, to Sabrina Carpenter’s infamous big hair, we are all wanting the big blowout look that’s voluminous, gorgeous and full of secrets.

However, getting a fresh curly blow every week is a little unrealistic – huge envy to anyone who does – but with busy schedules, and high cost, it sometimes seems unreasonable to pay €45 for a blow-dry that takes about an hour and a half.

Nevertheless, we may have the solutions to all your hair envy problems, with some at home tips and tricks to achieve that perfect bombshell hair look!

The heatless curl method

This one went viral across TikTok last year, with people using everything and anything in site to create some beautiful curls, without trying to damage their hair. From rods, socks, and dressing gown ties, everything was put to the test. And we have to say it worked!

This method is brilliant if you don’t have much time in the morning to spend on your hair but still want that fab blow-dry to impress all the girls at work! While you might not get the best night’s sleep, it is well worth it for the gorgeous outcome, and bonus points since you are reducing the amount of heat on your hair – it’s a win win!

@agnesgyllensvard I always put a product in before putting my heatless curls up (never oil tho, because I think the curls falls out faster if I do) and if I don’t have any products I make sure to damp my hair with some water. For me it makes a huge difference if I roll tight or not at the ends❤️❤️🥰🫶🏽 hope it helps! #heatlesscurls #heatlesscurlstutorial #hairtok #heatlessblowout #viral ♬ originalljud – Agnes Gyllensvärd

Round brush tool

One of the most popular ways to achieve that at home blowout, is the round brush tool. There is no exact one that you need, it’s all down to preference. Some act as a hair dryer too, while some are more of a hot tool.

What we will say is, unlike heatless curls, the round brush method is a bit more an investment since you are having to fork out money for the tool. In saying that, there are so many on the market that you can choose how cheap or expensive you want to go.

This method is fairly simple, and you can trial and error with a few different ways of using it, although there are some tricks to help you achieve volume and that signature hair flick!

For this method it is best to start with wet hair, to make the blowout look fresher for longer. This way you can also add some mousse and texture spray to really bring your hair to the next level.

Rollers

Rollers are the first thing we think of when it comes to a big bouncy blow-dry. It just gives all the glamour vibes we are after!

Even though it’s the first one we think of, it does happen to be the trickiest to get the hang of. Rollers can be used alongside any heat product of your choice, whether that’s a hairdryer, round brush or curling iron, the rollers are just an added section.

Rollers have may different sizes depending on your hair type and the desired look. The placement and the technique to roll up your hair also matters, because trust me, after all your hard working putting them in, you don’t want them to come out all flat and frizzy.

It’s also important you note that rollers can only work their magic if they are left to cool down and set, otherwise it will be all for nothing. The longer you leave them in the better, but half an hour should do the trick.

This will take some practice, but once you get the hang of it, everyone will be wanting to know what salon you went to!

Hair straighteners

Using hair straighteners to create a blowout look is perfect for those rushed mornings or last-minute night out. While it might not look as vol as other methods, it still creates a beautiful hair look that elegant, and chic.

It’s simply a little flick at the ends of your hair and tada! You’re ready for off. While it looks great on any hair style, this method is perfect for the short hair girls, or the ones with stunning layers!

No fuss required, just fabulous looking hair!
