If there’s one thing we probably all need more of, it’s sleep.

And one of the easiest ways to figure out exactly how much sleep you’re getting – and how deep that sleep is – is by tracking it.

WHOOP’s Sleep Performance has been so handy in seeing exactly what helps my sleep, and what hinders it. Unsurprisingly, one of my major impacts is alcohol.

According to new research distributed by WHOOP, just one drink hits your sleep and recovery, disrupting sleep quality, raising your heart rate overnight, and reducing next-day activity.

Women and younger adults feel this impact more, experiencing greater physiological disruption from alcohol at the same intake levels.
