We Have Our First Look At Sense & Sensibility Starring Daisy Edgar Jones
We're in the midst of an Austen renaissance

We are truly living in the Jane Austen renaissance.
We have a new Pride and Prejudice TV show coming. The Other Bennet Sister is returning for a three-part Christmas special. And now we have our first look at the upcoming Sense and Sensibility film.
The upcoming adaptation stars Ireland’s own Caitríona Balfe and honorary Irish woman Daisy Edgar Jones.
Daisy stars as Elinor Dashwood, one of three sisters who are forced to leave their family estate with their widowed mother and move to a humble cottage.

While Caitríona will play Mrs Dashwood herself.
But she’s not the only Irish actor in the period piece.
Fiona Shaw will play Mrs Jennings and rising Irish star Bodhi Rae Breathnach stars as Margaret Dashwood.
The film also stars Esmé Creed-Miles as Marianne Dashwood, George MacKay as Edward Ferrars and Herbert Nordrum as Colonel Brandon.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Jane Austen’s beloved novel has been adapted, with the most iconic version being the 1995 film starring Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson, who also penned the screenplay.
This time, best-selling author Diana Reid takes on screenwriting duties, with BAFTA-nominated director Georgia Oakley set to helm the film.
The story tells the tale of two sisters, Elinor (Edgar-Jones) and Marianne (Creed-Miles), as they navigate love, loss and expectations of them following the death of their father, which leaves them in financial uncertainty.
Sense and Sensibility hits Irish cinemas on September 25th
