This Terrifying Picture Is The Reason You should Never Sleep Beside Your Phone

Look, we all know that sleeping next to our phones is bad for us. The blue light from our screens keeps us awake at night, we’re more inclined to reply to a cheeky text if our phone is right next to us on our pillow, and waking up to our phone’s alarm shrieking right next to our head’s probably isn’t the most pleasant start to the day.

But far from being just a little bit bad for us, sleeping with our phone on or under our pillow can actually be really dangerous, as a gallery of twit pics from the New York Police Department’s Twitter shows.

The pics in question show bedsheets and a pillow scorched after a phone, that was charging, and left under a pillow, went on fire.

The NYPD’s advice? “Don’t put your cellphone under a pillow when sleeping or when charging your device.”
