Bella Hadid Reveals The True Extent Of Her Lyme Disease Battle With IV Drip Snapchat Pic
Things haven't been easy for her.
Model Bella Hadid has had a whirlwind year, walking for Tommy Hilfiger, Chanel and Miu Miu among others during her first Fashion Week stints.
Her rise to the top hasn’t come without its stumbling blocks though, including one very big health issue: her battle with Lyme Disease.
Like her mother Yolanda Foster, 19-year-old Bella suffers with the auto-immune disease, and while she has it under control enough these days to continue with her modelling work, it’s still something that has an effect on her everyday life.
Taking to Snapchat yesterday, Bella shared a photo of herself hooked up to an IV of medication with the caption, “Everyday.”
Speaking about her early days with the disease to the Evening Standard last year, Bella said she suffered with memory loss before her diagnosis.
“I suddenly wouldn’t remember how to drive to Santa Monica from Malibu where I lived,” she recalled.
As for her first love – horseriding – the model had to put her dreams of competing at this year’s Rio Olympics on hold. “I couldn’t ride. I was just too sick. And I had to sell my horse because I couldn’t take care of it,” she said.
In a blog post published in January 2016, Bella’s mum described the decision to quit horseriding as a “heartbreaking” moment for her daughter, but praised the teen for her “resilience.”
