Drake Is Coming To Dublin’s 3Arena But People Are P*ssed About The Price Tag
Will you be buying tickets?
After a year of chart-topping singles including Hotline Bling, Too Good and One Dance along with his April 2016 album Views, it’s been a busy twelve months for Drake – and he hasn’t even started his world tour yet.
The Canadian born rapper this morning confirmed news of a Dublin date on February 19, 2017 as part his Boy Meets World Tour which kicks off next January in Amsterdam.
Irish Twitter collectively weed its pants when news of the 3Arena gig broke this morning:
I would sell most of my aunties for drake tickets

If I don’t get a ticket for Drake I’ll probably get sick, cry then die all at the same time xx

Drake tickets out on Friday I swear to god I will loaf anyone who gets a ticket ahead of me

However there have been some grumblings about the hefty price tag. Tickets start at €85 plus booking fees – and with only four days before tickets go on sale, it’s not exactly a concert you can start saving up your pennies for in advance.
I really don’t appreciate concerts being announced 5 days before tickets go on sale where am I meant to pull a oner out my arse for drake

85 quid for a Drake ticket. He better come down and sing one dance whilst his arms are around me.

Coldplay’s Head Full Of Dreams tour, which stops off in Dublin’s Croke Park next July – and which sold out in 40 minutes last week – had tickets priced at a more reasonable €69.50. It seems Drake hasn’t followed suit, but somehow we doubt that’ll deter fans from snapping up tickets all the same.
