Here’s The Sweet Meaning Behind The Name Of Blake And Ryan’s Second Daughter

Baby Lively-Reynolds' name has just now been confirmed.

It’s been two months, but we finally have a name for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ second daughter.

Just last week, the couple “debuted” their two kids to the world, bringing two-year-old James and her new baby sister along with them to the unveiling of Ryan’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame star. Today, they’ve shared another snippet of their personal lives with us, confirming their two-month-old’s name via Us Weekly.

The little one is named Ines, a Greek/Portuguese variation on the name Agnes, which means “pure.” A very sweet name, with a gorgeous meaning behind it too.

As for little James, she’s named after Ryan’s late father, who passed away last year after a long battle with Parkinson’s. The name is one that Blake admitted she favoured because it was out of left field for a girl. “I liked having a boy’s name,” the actress told Good Morning America.

Blake and Ryan have made a concerted effort to keep their children out of the limelight, and say they will continue to do so until the two girls are old enough to decide for themselves what level of exposure they want. “It’s her life. She should have her privacy until she chooses not to have her privacy, just as I got to choose and my husband got to choose,” Blake said of her eldest daughter.

While last week’s Walk Of Fame ceremony was certainly a high-profile event to choose to show their kids off for the first time, Ryan told Extra that he wanted his family with him on the day, pure and simple. “This is one of the rare occasions when we thought, ‘We’ve got to bring the whole clan,'” the actor said. “I’d regret it in 20 years if I didn’t.”
