Who’s Joanna Coles? Here’s Why You’re About To Be Obsessed With Her And Her New Show So Cosmo

If you're not already a big Joanna fan, you're about to be.

Working in the magazine industry, here at STELLAR HQ we have lots of women in the bizz that we idolise, and there are few who’ve earned our admiration more than former Cosmo editor Joanna Coles.

From 2012 until September 2016 she held the position of editor-in-chief at the US arm of the publication, before moving on to become content editor for the mag’s publishing house Hearst Magazines; the first person to hold that title.

Personally and professionally, she’s funny, ambitious, creative and a total industry badass. Oh, and she counts Channing Tatum as a friend, just FYI.

That’s her #GirlBoss credentials covered, and if you’re already in love with her as much as we are, you’ll be delighted to know she’s starring in a new show called So Cosmo.

The new programme premiered on E! this month and it follows the life of Joanna and some of her fellow Cosmo staffers, giving a fascinating look into magazine life both in and out of the office.

Recently Joanna got to attend a private Magic Mike show with some of the dancers for a segment on the reality series. Um, jealous!

In another clip, she grapples with how to tell her staff she’s leaving her position as editor. (Side note: how envious are you of her amazing office?)

There’s no doubt that with such an enviable career and a CV that most of us could only dream of, she’s definitely a fascinating figure to follow on screen.

Not convinced? So Cosmo‘s tag line has totally reeled us in:

“The docuseries follows the work hard, play hard lifestyles of the young women and men whose real life experiences inspire the pages of Cosmopolitan Magazine,” writes the show’s producers. Yep, we reckon we’ve found our new reality telly binge-watch.

Wanna know more about Joanna and So Cosmo? We’ve interviewed her for an upcoming issue of the mag, so stay tuned!

New episodes of So Cosmo available to stream & download Thursdays on hayu. Premieres on E! 8th March at 9pm.
