#WellWed: Team STELLAR’s Top Celebrity Wedding Dresses
There are no weddings on the immediate horizon, but that isn't going to come in the way of team STELLAR and their fave celeb wedding get-ups!
There’s nothing like a celeb wedding to ramp up the excitement and anticipation in lieu of that first photo. We especially love the elaborate frothy, tulle creations – you know, the kind that vomit lace, beading and Swarovski crystals all at once *insert hand clapping emoji*.
Just in case you’re in need of some bridal #dresspo, we’ve rounded up our numero uno gúnas and, tellingly, there’s not a K-Middy/McQueen pick in sight…

“I have two – Keira Knightley and Jessica Biel. I tend to like non-traditional gowns and I loved how Keira just totally did what she wanted for all aspects of her wedding day, keeping it really informal and low-key. Okay, so her dress was Chanel, but it was also something that she could easily wear again – and she has. Love it. She seems really at ease with herself, and that’s great to see.”
“Jessica went the non-trad route, too, with a flouncy gown from Giambattista Valli that was heavy on the pink. It was super-girly, very flouncy, and I loved her reasoning for it as well: “I wanted the dress to be very romantic and feminine and a shape that I very rarely wear. I’ve never been crazy about all-white wedding dresses, for me at least. It was a bit of a leap of faith at the time, but it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. [Putting it on], I felt like I’d made the right choice. I felt elegant. And it moved like a dream’.”
Rosemary, Deputy Editor
“For me it’s Gwen Stefani. This was the ultimate in super cool, alternative celebrity wedding dresses – at a time when everyone was conforming. The colour was so gorgeous and Galliano was THE designer to be dressed by. Gwen was – and is – such a style icon.”
Linda, Fashion Editor
“Olivia Palermo – I swoon for that cashmere number!”
Katie, Junior Designer
“Lauren Conrad, and Yoko Ono – a bit of an odd choice I know, but John Lennon’s Mrs looked class on her wedding day! They’re both fairly elegant, without being over the top. I like Lauren and Yoko’s choices in particular because they range from the traditional idea of a wedding dress, to a more quirky, casual take on what to wear on the big day.”
Michelle, Staff Writer
“She mightn’t be that celeb-y but I just adored Lauren Santo Domingo’s wedding dress. The co-founder of Moda Operandi married her Colombian millionaire, Andres, in an Olivier Theyskens for Nini Ricci über ensemble. That image of LSD on her wedding day will never get old – for me anyway!”
“I also loved Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s classic, slinky Narciso Rodriguez number… go figure.”
Aideen, Fashion Assistant
“I loveMillie Mackintosh’s dress for its sweet lace neck and sleeves which work so well with the overflow silk skirt – vintage/boho but brilliantly elegant.”
Victoria Stokes, Junior Digital Editor
“Chrissy Teigen – a fitted bodice up top, and a big, flouncy princess skirt on the bottom. What’s not to love?!”
