All The Looks From The Oscars Red Carpet Last Night
Let's dive right in.
While the Oscars ceremony last night was a bit disorganised (to say the least), and there were a few upsets with the awards themselves, the red carpet was probably one of the best in years.
Most attendees brought their style A-game – get a cup of tea and settle in, because there are many, MANY looks to discuss (and we’re not even going to start on the after-parties, cos we’d be here all day).
Billy Porter
The Pose actor was the first on the red carpet and he DELIVERED in tux-gown by Christian Siriano. Look of the night? Probably.
Lady Gaga

We always want Gaga to go bigger and crazier, but we can’t deny she looks simply stunning in this black Alexander McQueen. And those jewels? Holy god.
Constance Wu

What a dream of a dress from the star of Crazy Rich Asians. This colour is always a favourite on the red carpet – remember this stunning number Michelle Williams wore in 2006? – and Versace have done her right.
Tessa Thompson
Tessa paid tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld with a Chanel gown. While we like the detailing on the bodice, it does look like someone wrapped her legs up in bedazzled golden rope. FREE HER!
Elsie Fisher
Elsie is the 15-year-old star of the film Eighth Grade – she’s been sporting gorgeous pantsuits all awards season, and this Thom Browne one is just fab.
Emma Stone
Love this rich, regal, honeycomb-esque Louis Vuitton on Emma (though some have compared it to waffles. What’s wrong with waffles?).
Linda Cardellini

Who could have predicted this for Linda C? The Green Book actress is getting dragged on Worst Dressed lists for this but honestly, it’s loads of fun.
Tina Fey
Simple but gorgeous, and what a colour.
Kacey Musgraves
Kaceeeyyyy! The singer was a vision in pink tulle. So much pink tulle. But she works it.
Amy Adams
Pretty safe here for Amy, who probably knew she wouldn’t have to collect an award in it. (On a side note – Academy, give Amy Adams her Oscar.)
Regina King
Regina King has been looking foxy as hell this entire awards season, and this Oscar De La Renta dress is the perfect end to her run (along with her Best Supporting Actress trophy, of course).
Yalitza Aparicio
The Roma actress has been extremely well put-together throughout her debut awards season, and this mint green Rodarte gown is the cherry on top.
Gemma Chan
Have to say, we are extremely here for women dressing like chic cult leaders. This is an amazing colour, looks extremely comfortable, and HAS POCKETS. Congrats Gemma, you’ve won the gown lottery.
Sarah Paulson
Love her, love pink, hate the cutouts and the bubbly bodice. But again, pockets!
Henry Golding

Swoon. This Old Hollywood style suits him, the dish.
Michelle Yeoh
When we saw this last night we said “Michelle Yeoh? More like Michelle YEEEEOOO!” and we repeat that statement now. A queen.
Amy Poehler
A tailcoat! Yass Amy!
Rachel Weisz
Again with the culty vibes! This is objectively bonkers. Perhaps if the capelet was not latex, we’d like it more? But she is an eternal ride.
Danielle Macdonald
Oh hey Dumplin’! How beautifully elegant for her first Oscars.
Emilia Clarke
A stunning colour, even if she does look a tiny bit like a rumpled bedspread. A luxuriously rumpled bedspread, though!
Charlize Theron
Step on my neck, Charlize! Think that’s how the kids say it. Take a look at the back:
Fabulous.
Spike Lee
The legendary director finally got his first Oscar, and looked absolutely boss in a purple suit, purple beret, purple glasses, gold runners, and a Prince symbol chain. This man has style by the bucketload.
Awkwafina

The fit is not the best, and we’ll never enjoy trouser pleats that crisp, but her style has been mostly A+ in her first big year as an actress.
Glenn Close
She didn’t bring her doggo Pip on the carpet this time, but she did bring the looks. This golden Carolina Herrera cape/dress situation is perfectly queenly.
Melissa McCarthy

This is the ‘trousers and a nice top’ template at its most fancy. While we love that cape sleeve, we preferred her purple Golden Globes gown and silver SAG Awards look.
Brie Larson
The newly-minted superhero is certainly dressing the part in slinky Celine. Very nice, Brie!
Olivia Colman
This isn’t our favourite dress she’s worn on her winner’s tour of awards ceremonies, but listen, she’s an international treasure.
Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa
The best-looking couple in Hollywood went ‘pink on pink’, as Jason said, and continued to be extremely, ridiculously good-looking.
Allison Janney

We can only dream of being a quarter as hot as she is at 59.
Laura Harrier
The BlackkKlansman actress wore a custom Louis Vuitton dress that was entirely ethically sourced, from the silk to the beads. She looks like a princess.
Jennifer Lopez
This is so extremely J Lo, and we thank her for it.
Shangela
Closing this post out with a bang is the divine Shangela, who walked the red carpet with the actress Jenifer Lewis. This is the drama we crave from the Oscars! Bless you Shangie.
