A Delightful Dog Festival Is Coming To Dublin In August
The most wholesome event of the summer?
Festivals and dogs are two of our favourite things, so imagine our delight when we heard that the two are coming together for what may be the perfect day!
Best of all, it’s for a good cause! The event, appropriately named Dogs Trustival is being organised by Dogs Trust.
To celebrate a decade of rescuing and rehoming dogs in Ireland, the charity will host the inaugural event at their Rehoming Centre, located on the Ashbourne Road in Finglas on Sunday, August 18th
The event promises to be jam-packed with all things doggie! There will be training displays with some of the most talented Dogs Trust residents and their Canine Carers, a Tailwaggers Walk market.
There’ll be loads of doggie retail and exhibitions, delicious street food vendors, a children’s education corner with face-painting, canine agony aunts, a pup-up photo booth with Pawtrait [okay, now we’re crying…], as well as a Museum of Modern Bark, where a host of well-known artists, including Off The Leash, Audrey Hamilton and Morgan will exhibit pieces of their artwork to be raffled at the event.
For people bringing their own dogs, there will be designated activity areas to let your dogs have fun and explore too!
The main tent will be hosted by TV presenter, author and dog lover, Andrea Hayes, and will feature some well-known Irish music acts who will play exclusive acoustic sets in a small intimate setting. Hudson Taylor, who featured some Dogs Trust residents in their recent music video Run with Me, will play, as well as new Dublin band SARLOOS.
Special entertainment acts will include a magician, a balloon modeller and live bubbles, as well as the charity’s very own Dog Tales with Andrea Hayes competition, a chance for people to tell the audience what their dog means to them and the impact their dog has had on their life, which will be judged by Irish model Holly Carpenter and TV presenter Maia Dunphy.
Dogs Trustival takes place in Dogs Trust, Finglas on Sunday 18th August from 12pm to 5pm. Family tickets are only €35 and dogs go free! You can book here.
