Amber Gill Says Greg O’Shea DID Dump Her Via Text, But ‘It Is What It Is’
"I am disappointed it's over."
Amber Gill has said that Greg O’Shea DID end their relationship via text, despite what he said on the Late Late Show on Friday.
The Love Island winner was a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women today, where she spoke for the first time about the split. When she was asked about Greg’s assertion that the decision had been mutual, her snort of derision said it all.
She revealed that she was “really disappointed” by how the relationship ended, as she wanted to try and make it work, despite the distance between them.
“The careers and the distance were always a factor, they were always something we knew about, so I don’t know what changed… but it is what it is,” she said.
Amber confirmed they did chat over the phone a few days beforehand, as Greg said on the Late Late, but it wasn’t specifically about their situation.
“But definitely on that day, it was a text,” she insisted. “I think there was a bit of miscommunication, but I think if you don’t want to be with someone you don’t want to be with someone.”
Basically all I wanted was a bit of effort from him to come to London or Newcastle to see me. I said I’m going to have to give up if you don’t put the effort in. And he said, ‘OK, bye’. I was expecting it to be a bit different.
Greg said he’s holding out hopes for a reunion in the future, if their situations change – but Amber is not so sure.
She implied that she may have been a bit “naive” in regards to Greg’s intentions going into the villa:
The islanders in from the beginning were naive to people going in later on, and what people’s perceptions were and what were being said. I didn’t really think of that at the time.
“I am disappointed it’s over. I’m booked and busy and I’ll be fine. Onwards and upwards from here,” she said. Dead right. The queen of Love Island never stays down for long.
