The Derry Girls Are Set To Cook Up A Storm On The Bake Off
The crossover we never knew we needed.
Derry Girls, a show that literally had us in stitches from laughing, but also reaching for the tissues from sobbing our eyes out. Then there’s the Great British Bake Off, the show that had us positively drooling while at the same time on the edge of our seats with the nerves. Now, the two are crossing over and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited.
Christmas specials of well-loved shows always go down a treat, and the Great British Bake Off is no different. Except this time, our fave stars from Derry Girls will be baking their own concoctions in the famous tent. The Great Festive Bake Off, airing on New Year’s Day on Channel 4, will star Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Dylan Llewellyn and Siobhan McSweeney. Or, otherwise known as Erin, Clare, Michelle, James and the gaaaas Sister Michael.
Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be there to make sure the Derry Girls stars through their paces, as well as usual presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
After Nicola Coughlan announced the news on Twitter, we’ve been absolutely beside ourselves with excitement. The cast are just as good craic in real life as they are on the show, so it’ll make for the perfect New Year’s Day viewing.

We can bet even the memes will be worth the wait.
