Domhnall Gleeson Has A New TV Show With Phoebe Waller-Bridge, And It Looks Mad
We're always happy to see Domhnall on our screens, to be fair.
Domhnall Gleeson and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. If that doesn’t sound like a match made in telly heaven to you, what does?
PWB is the executive producer of Run, a new sitcom/thriller created by her longtime collaborator Vicky Jones and starring our Domhnall, along with Unbelievable actress Merritt Wever.
Coming to Sky Comedy in April, the show follows Ruby Richardson (Wever), whose life is turned upside down when she receives a text from her college boyfriend Billy (Gleeson) inviting her to drop everything and meet him in New York.
They had made a pact 17 years earlier that if either of them texted the word ‘RUN’ and the other replied the same, they’d leave instantly on a cross-country trip around America. But how feasible will it be for Ruby to just leave her life behind? Not very, we’re going to guess.
Not content with just producing the series, Phoebe will appear in the show as Laurel, a character Billy and Ruby meet on their travels. The Good Wife fans will also be pleased to know that Archie Panjabi (AKA Kalinda Sharma) will be playing life guru Billy’s former personal assistant.
We’re not entirely sure what accent Domhnie’s supposed to have in that trailer, but we’re fully on board with this mad premise. Catch Run on Sky Comedy from April 15.
