Ready To Couple Up? Applications For Love Island 2021 Are Now Open
After a year's break due to the pandemic, Love Island is preparing for summer 2021 in the sun.
Previously on Love Island…
Love Island is all systems go for next year as it has begun its recruitment process, looking for a whole host of new singles to star in the next season of the show, with casting is apparently set to begin as early as January.
“Reality shows can now have huge casts living together as long as all participants and crew have isolated for two full weeks beforehand,” a source told The Sun. Positive news given that the UK and Ireland are still on level 5 lockdown.
Like always, it is believed the filming will take place in a Spanish villa, with this year’s show expected to be “bigger and better” than ever before to make up for the year lost. As the filming usually runs for six weeks, there’s also talks on that being extended to eight weeks, to give fans more action to watch.
Also back in the hosting seat, it looks like Laura Whitmore will once again lead the show. Confirming its return, Laura told Tyla that she has missed not having Love Island in lockdown.
“I really missed not having Love Island in lockdown – I’ve been watching the old seres’ because I really needed to not watch the news.”
At the beginning of this year, for Love Island’s debut winter series, it was Laura’s first time in the hosting hot seat. Crowning her first set of Love Island winners, popular islanders Finley Tapp and Paige Turley took home the title, and a sweet €50,000, in February.
And so, now it’s time to see some new Islanders in the house, with a whole new competition, and a whole new chance at finding love and of course, fame.
