There’s nothing like a pop singer from your youth turning the big 4-0 to make you feel old. It seems like only yesterday we were dancing in our bedrooms, hairbrushes in hand, to Christina Aguilera’s Genie in a Bottle, and this weekend she celebrated her 40th birthday.
Christina is embracing is this new decade with style, posting loads of stunning pictures this week (she as always looks incredible) and shared her excitement at this new milestone; “This ever present social stigma exists around getting older but I have ALWAYS embraced it!”
“I am forever an old soul and I appreciate the wisdom, grace and beauty that comes with each new year of life.”

Continuing, she revealed how much she’s learned over the past four decades; “It’s hard to express the magnitude of this birthday and what it means to me. Our world has been flipped upside down yet I have so much faith in the future.”
“I’m deeply humbled and blessed by the fullness of my life that I’ve built over the last 40 years, and I am truly excited to see what adventures lie ahead for me as I continue following my heart and my dreams.”
“I’ve heard it said that some of your best life is lived in your 40’s. You stop giving a f*ck about all the bullsh*t…clarity comes over you and a new intention sets in with every move you make. I truly believe the best is yet to come and I am READY for it.”

Turning 40 this year of all years is not ideal as we’re sure Xtina would have had a super extra party to celebrate. Rather than dwell on this, instead she spoke about how difficult this year has been for most people.
“After a whirlwind of a year, in which we have all experienced so much change, I find that our personal choices matter more than ever.”
Her message to fans about 2020 was; “We have to be brave; we have to stand in the discomfort and push ourselves to new heights where we can find our greater purposes.”
Brb, we’re off to listen to Stripped on repeat for the rest of the weekend.
