Holly Willoughby Marked Her 40th Birthday By Wearing A Very Sentimental Dress

The This Morning host paid tribute to her mom on her special day.

Holly Willoughby turned 40-years-old this week and to celebrate her birthday in lockdown, the star wore the same dress as worn by her own mother on her 40th.

With social distancing and staying home keeping us apart from our loved ones, Holly wanted to feel close to her mom while they’re still separated by restrictions and so, wore her old party dress on her special day.

Explaining the she couldn’t believe her mom kept the dress all these years, Holly said:

“This photo of my Mum was taken on her 40th birthday at the party she had in the garden. I remember this day so clearly.

“It’s a strange thing to reach the age you remember your Mum being! …I asked her if she’d kept the dress and of course she had… Strange moment zipping it up this morning, wondering how she felt on her big day.

“I can’t be with my Mum or Dad today but wearing this in her honour makes me feel closer to them… love you Mumma! #sothisis40,” she wrote online.

Many fans took to Holly’s post to celebrate her birthday with her, commenting love, praise and awe for the TV host who needs to leave us in on her beauty secrets STAT.

Holly has previously explained that she’s missing her mom a lot throughout lockdown, sharing a photo of them back in May last year, saying:

“Happy birthday to my beautiful mumma… miss you so so much… can’t wait to cuddle you again… love you!”
