Only last week, it was reported that Chris Noth and David Eigenberg, who played Mr Big and Steve Brady in Sex and the City, would not be returning in the reboot And Just Like That.

This got people thinking of what this meant for their characters, but also Carrie and Miranda. Did they part ways? Are they out of the picture? Who knows.

Not only were we losing out on seeing what life is now like for Samantha, but also Steve and Big. Sigh.

But now, Chris Noth has reacted to the rumours that he won’t be appearing in the reboot, and it sounds like the rumours aren’t to be believed.

Fans took to Instagram to share their upset, with one commenting, “why for heaven’s sake you are not playing my beloved Mr Big?? My heart is [broken heart emoji].” Chris decided to reply to the comment, writing, “Everything changes—including announcements in the rags.”

Writing back to another comment which asked him to reconsider, Chris wrote, “well if page six says it… it must be true,” with a winking face.

All we can do now is to wait and see if Mr Big is making a big comeback. Considering he was a massive part of both the series (from 1998 to 2004) and both films, it’s likely he could be offered just as much as the leading ladies for the reboot.

Although I’ll still be over here thinking about Samantha and wishing she was on board. It was recently explained what will happen to Kim Cattrall’s character, as HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys revealed to TV Line: “Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave.

“Friendships fade, and new friendships start. So I think it is all very indicative of the real stages, the actual stages of life.”

Before adding, “They’re trying to tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York. So it should all feel somewhat organic, and the friends that you have when you’re 30, you may not have when you’re 50.”
